- Master of Science in Anthropology, University of Minnesota
- About:
I am an experiential educator at heart with a particular focus on service-learning. I hold a master's degree in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota. My graduate level research focused on the impact of multinational corporations on the social, environmental and economic fabric of Mexican border communities. I see service-learning as a way to educate students about social and environmental concerns and help them realize their connection to these real world issues. I have a particular interest in civic engagement, citizen participation in public policy formation and structured controversy. As the "Associate Director for Community Programs" I provide leadership and support for community programming, work with science faculty to create new community-based learning initiatives, develop and teach capstone courses, and coordinate the NW Corps of Rediscovery Program.
